Elegante hondstand ontstaan uit een kruising van twee Amerikaanse soorten: E. californicum en E. revolutum. De bloemen zijn wit of roze. Plant de honstand op in een plaatsje in de lichte schaduw tot schaduw in humusrijke bosgrond. De knollen zijn gevoelig voor o.a. uitdroging en beschadiging, plant ze direct na ontvangst en minimaal 10 cm diep.
