Will coolplants ship plants to the UK again in 2027?
Since Brexit, shipping live plants from the European Union to Great Britain has become considerably more complicated. Phytosanitary certificates, border procedures and additional administration have made direct sales to UK plant lovers difficult.
That may change in 2027.
The United Kingdom and the European Union are currently negotiating a new Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) agreement. The UK government intends for the new arrangements to take effect around mid-2027, although the exact timing and final details are still being negotiated.
For the horticultural sector, the planned changes could significantly simplify the movement of plants between the EU and Great Britain.
Coolplants
At coolplants, we are following these developments closely and investigating how we can make our collection available to UK customers again once the new rules are in place.
Our aim would be to make as much of the coolplants range available as possible, including unusual perennials, Hosta, Galanthus, bulbs, shrubs and other special plants.
For the moment, shipping plants to Great Britain remains subject to the existing rules.
We will publish further information as soon as the new regulations and our shipping arrangements are confirmed.
