An evergreen ornamental shrub with glossy dark green leaves and decorative, peeling bark. It blooms profusely with urn-shaped pink flowers in late autumn and winter. The strawberry-like fruits turn from yellow to red. It prefers a sheltered, warm location in well-drained soil.
